this modern story - "Footprints"
The
Our Father:
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen. |
|
The
Hail Mary:
Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen. |
|
The
Glory Be:
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen. |
|
The
Apostle's Creed:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and
earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was
buried.
He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the
dead;
He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God,
the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the
living
and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection
of the body and life everlasting.
Amen. |
|
St.
Michael the Archangel:
St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen. |
|
The
Angelus:
The Angel of the Lord declared to Mary:
And she conceived of the Holy Spirit. Hail
Mary . . .
Behold the handmaid of the Lord: Be it done unto me according
to Thy word. Hail Mary . . .
And the Word was made Flesh: And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary . . .
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made
worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray: Pour forth, we beseech
Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the
incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message
of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the
glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord.
Amen. |
|
The
Memorare:
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy clemency hear and answer me.
Amen. |
|
The
Hail Holy Queen:
Hail holy Queen Mother of mercy;
hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope!
To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve;
to you do we send up our sighs, mournings and weeping in this
vale of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy towards
us;
and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of
thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Amen. |

Prayer
for Priests
Keep them I pray Thee, Dearest Lord. Keep them, for they
are Thine -
Thy priests whose lives burn out before Thy consecrated
shrine.
Keep them, for they are in the world, though from the world
apart:
When earthly pleasures tempt, allure, shelter them in Thy
heart.
Keep them and comfort them in hours of loneliness and pain,
When all their life of sacrifice for souls seems but in
vain.
Keep them, and O remember Lord, they have no one but Thee
Yet they have only human hearts with human frailty.
Keep them as spotless as the Host that daily they caress.
Their every thought and word and deed, deign, Dearest Lord
to bless.

II |
O my Jesus, You have said: "Truly I say to you, if you
ask anything of The Father in My Name, He will give it to you".
Behold, In your Name, I ask The Father for the grace of ..........

O my Jesus, You have said: "Truly I say to you, heaven
and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away".
Encouraged by your infallible words I now ask for the grace
of .......... Our Father...
Hail Mary... Glory be to the Father... Sacred Heart of Jesus
I place all my trust in You. |
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not
to have compassion on the afflicted, have pity on us miserable
sinners and grant us the grace which we ask of You, through
the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, your tender
mother and ours.
Say the Hail, Holy Queen
and add: Saint Joseph, foster
father of Jesus, pray for us.

The
Divine Mercy Chaplet:
Using normal rosary beads, begin with:
Our Father..., Hail Mary..., The Creed.
On the five large beads:
Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity
of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ in atonement
for our sins and those of the whole world.
On the ten small beads:
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and
on the whole world.
At the end of the Chaplet say three times: Holy God, Holy
Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the
whole world. |

Out
of the Depths - De Profundis - Psalm 129:
Out of the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord; Lord hear my
voice. Let Thy ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.
If Thou, O Lord, wilt mark iniquities, Lord, who shall stand
it? For with Thee there is merciful forgiveness, and by reason
of Thy law, I have waited for Thee, O Lord. My soul has relied
on His word, my soul hath hoped in the Lord. From the morning
watch even until night, let Israel hope in the Lord. Because
with the Lord there is mercy; and with Him plentiful redemption.
And He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities. |
|
The
23rd Psalm:
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
In verdant pastures He gives me repose;
Before restful waters He leads me;
He refreshes my soul.
He guides me in right paths for His name's sake.
Even though I walk in the dark valley I fear no evil; for you
are at my side, with your rod and your staff that give me courage.
You spread a table for me in the sight of my foes; you anoint
my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life;
And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for years to come. |
